GSM Law Office Proud of Two Decades of Support to ATINA Association

GSM Law Office proudly highlights twenty years of continuous support to the ATINA Association in achieving its mission of protecting and representing victims of human trafficking and gender-based violence in court proceedings. This longstanding partnership has once again been recognized as part of a broader fight for human rights, confirmed by the recent ceremony of awarding a prestigious French decoration, which was attended by representatives of our office, attorneys Đorđe Simić and Tijana Filipović.

Namely, the French Ambassador to Serbia, Pierre Cochard, presented the Order of Merit in the rank of Knight to Marijana Savić, Director and Founder of the ATINA Association. This recognition was awarded for her exceptional work in preventing and combating gender-based violence and human trafficking. On this occasion, Ambassador Cochard emphasized that every year, more than 200 direct victims of human trafficking and gender-based violence, as well as 300 members of their families, receive support and shelter through the only certified center in Serbia run by ATINA.

Support provided by this center includes medical and psychological assistance, work skills training, and programs for the economic empowerment of victims. The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of ATINA’s work during the migrant crisis when assistance was provided to thousands of women, girls, and children from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, and African countries, who were in particularly vulnerable positions.

On this occasion, Marijana Savić emphasized that human rights and women’s rights are not guaranteed but must be fought for every day. She also announced the opening of ATINA’s permanent premises, made possible with the support of the European Union. These premises will be a safe place where every woman can find support and an opportunity for a new beginning.

GSM Law Office, through representing victims of human trafficking in legal proceedings, remains committed to supporting ATINA’s work and the fight for the rights of the most vulnerable. We are pleased to be part of this twenty-year support, proud of the success of ATINA, Marijana Savic, Jelena Hrnjak, and all other associates, whose work we will continue to support with dedication until the mission of combating human trafficking is fully achieved.

We sincerely congratulate Marijana on this well-deserved recognition.
